Application re-engineering

Modernise legacy systems — without disrupting what already works.

Deep familiarity with legacy systems, applied to modernising them in bounded releases. We map what must keep working, upgrade one workflow at a time, and nothing replaces the old system without your sign-off.

  • C# · VB.NET long-running systems
  • Step by step in bounded releases
  • Signed off by you before we switch
Old system → new platform one release at a time
Nothing is replaced without sign-off.

What we re-engineer

Renew the platform, keep the business running

Systems that work today but sit on technology that is getting harder to maintain.

  • VB.NET · .NET Framework

    Older .NET systems

Long-running C# and VB.NET systems moved to current .NET.

  • Xamarin → MAUI

Mobile apps on a new base

Mobile apps upgraded from Xamarin to .NET MAUI, as in our long-running electrical design app.

  • Workflows

    Every workflow carried over

Screens, reports, data and integrations — including the unusual workflows experienced users rely on.

  • Acceptance

    A safe switch-over

User acceptance testing on your data in every release, before anything is replaced.

Legacy systems → current platforms

Modernise it step by step.

Many business systems still run on an older platform because they work. We move them forward in bounded releases, so the business keeps running while the platform underneath it is renewed.

  1. Map what must keep working

Screens, reports, data, integrations and the unusual workflows that experienced users rely on — not just the main screens.

  2. Upgrade in bounded releases

Start with one workflow that has clear acceptance criteria, so you can evaluate a working build before the scope grows.

  3. Test with your users, then sign off

Each release goes through user acceptance testing on your data. Nothing replaces the old system without your sign-off.

How to get started

From first inquiry to kick-off, in four steps.

Write to us in Japanese or English. A bilingual member of the team replies in the same language.

  1. Tell us what you need

Send the contact form or request a callback. A rough idea is enough: what the system should do, who will use it and when you need it.

  2. Meet online, under NDA

We sign a non-disclosure agreement first, then walk through your requirements, existing systems and constraints in an online meeting.

  3. Receive a proposal and estimate

Scope, team, schedule and the engagement model that fits: contract development, a dedicated lab team, or maintenance and operations.

  4. Kick off with your bilingual PM

Your project manager sets up the meeting rhythm, reporting and tools, and the team starts on the first deliverable.

FAQ

Questions we hear first

Can you take over an existing system?

Yes. We start by reading the code and documenting how the system works today, then agree a maintenance or upgrade plan with you. We maintain long-running C# and VB.NET systems, including a 3+ year engagement for a North American client.

Will the business stop while you upgrade?

No. We upgrade in bounded releases, starting with one workflow that has clear acceptance criteria, so the business keeps running while the platform is renewed.

Do you work with VB.NET and older .NET?

Yes. We move long-running VB.NET and older .NET Framework systems to current .NET.

Can we work with your team in Japanese?

Yes. Status reports, documentation and QA sign-off can all run in Japanese, with weekly reports in both Japanese and English.
